"If you're afraid of hurting yourself, change sport."

Per-Olof "POSA" Serenius is one of the worlds most acknowledged ice speedway riders. He was born March 9th, 1948 in Hedemora, Sweden. Currently resides in Svärdsjö, Sweden. As late as 2008 he took his 19th gold medal at the Swedish championships and is, since before, a world champion in ice speedway -95, -02 and as part of team -85, -92 and -02.
I've been living side by side with ice racing my entire life and have had the benefit of following the career of Per-Olof "Posa" Serenius up-close since the start. What I admire the most is his capability to adjust, to always make the best of the situation he is in. I've never heard him come up with excuses or blame anything but himself. Posa goes straight towards the next goal without dwelling on what went wrong.

His lust for riding the bike is all that motivates him. He is a man of true sportmanship. He has never had a reputation of playing false or being dangerous on the track. Posa is always prepared when autumn comes and he always practice, even if it demands long journeys or extra hard work. He throws himself at all hard work and see it as something positive. If he comes to a lake with poor ice, he still practice. Neither the weather nore the wind has an influence on him.

Posa never dwell or whine but make the most out of every situation he is in. The fact that he has trained so much over the years has consciousely and efficantly benefited his career. He learns from every practice, he analyzes everything. As an individual he is regular, has never shown any bad manners or demanded more attention than anyone else. Posa owns a special calm and mental strength. He has the capability to focus on what's right here, right now.
